Env Safety and Health Mgr
Description SUMMARY: Develops, implants, maintains, manages health, safety, worker?s compensation, and safety programs. Provides technical expertise necessary to insure compliance with local, state, and federal safety, environmental, and worker?s compensation regulations. DUTIES: Essential Functions: 1.Performs duties and responsibilities common to most supervisory personnel. 2.Develops and implements project level safety, environmental, worker?s compensation and health policies. 3.Performs investigation of all accidents and incidents independently and in coordination with other agencies as required and communication with managers and all employees. 4.Ensures compliance with company, industry, governmental agency, and other applicable safety, environmental standards and regulations and worker?s compensation laws for California. 5.Monitors federal, state, regional, and local safety regulations for impact on IAP and recommends changes as needed. 6.Administers the medical surveillance program. 7.Administers and monitors the worker?s compensation program. 8.Serves as liaison with Army and designated contractor personnel with environmental, safety and health, and worker?s compensation related responsibilities. 9.Serves as the liaison with governmental agencies. 10.Coordinates with Corporate Safety and Environmental Health to maintain compliance with IAP plans and programs. 11.Performs and/or coordinates safety related training including new employee orientation. 12.Works with Managers and employees to correct findings discovered during inspections. 13.Assists Managers in conducting Job Hazard Analysis and Safety Observation Program. Supplementary Functions May Include: 1.Performs related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: MINIMUM - Bachelor degree in Environmental or Safety discipline. DESIRED - Post graduate Experience: MINIMUM - 8 years professional -level experience in Environmental Safety & Health with Federal Government or Federal Government contractor, including overseas contingency operations. Skills: MINIMUM - Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication. Intermediate skill using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint. Effective analytical and administrative skills. DESIRED - Proficiency with advanced features of ACCESS. Certificate, License, Registration, etc.: MINIMUM - Must Posses a valid California Driver?s License DESIRED - Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar advanced safety certification. Job Requirements MINIMUM - Bachelor degree in Environmental or Safety discipline. DESIRED - Post graduate Experience: MINIMUM - 8 years professional -level experience in Environmental Safety & Health with Federal Government or Federal Government contractor, including overseas contingency operations.
