Job Code :4162 Division :538: Aerospace - Seal Location :Downers Grove IL US 60515 % of Travel Required :20-30% Job Type :Reg - Full Time Career Level :Experienced Professional (5+ years) Education :Bachelor's Degree Category :Aerospace/Aviation/Defense Job Description : Brief Description This position, based out of Downers Grove, IL, is responsible for managing the overall safety, health, and environmental activities with the primary goal of reducing loss and liability. This position will develop and manage a program that ensures compliance with state, local, and federal regulations for two manufacturing facilities. Travel to other Rexnord Aerospace site in Wheeling, IL is estimated to be 30%. This position will report directly to the Vice President and General Manager of the Downers Grove (Shafer) facility as well as indirectly report to the General Manager of the Wheeling (Seal) facility. Key Accountabilities · Manage workers’ compensation loss control program, which includes monitoring claim levels, reducing costs, and early return to work. · Develop, implement, and manage safety programs (LOTO, Hazard Communication and Waste, Emergency Response, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, etc.) to ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable environmental standards at multiple locations. · Provide or coordinate all mandatory and non-mandatory training to comply with local, state, and federal regulations. · Provide or coordinate all Regulatory Reporting such as but not limited to Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste Disposal, Air Emissions, EPCRA Tier II (Toxic Release) and IMEA Radiation. · Regulatory Permitting and Permit Compliance for Air, Water and Waste under Key Accountabilities · Investigate accidents, prepare and maintain required reports. Identify countermeasure to prevent reoccurrence. · Coordinate and perform all OSHA mandated testing and training programs including industrial hygiene testing. · Provide new hire orientation outlining Rexnord’s high expectations regarding safety rules and regulations. · Organize, lead and participate in all safety committee activities. · Perform frequent environmental and safety audits to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. · Assist in the development of a behavior based safety program (i.e. Dupont Stop). · Lead and maintain policies and procedure management to ensure safety in both the work environment and equipment. · Prepare written safety objectives and submit action plans to meet those objectives. · Incorporate ergonomics in the workplace, and conduct Job Safety Analysis as required. Desirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors · Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in occupational safety, environmental science or a closely related field. · 7+ years experience with OSHA and Environmental Regulations · Must possess a theoretical and practical knowledge of all state and federal regulatory standards including OSHA, EPA, DOT and DNR. · High knowledge of current safety and loss control practices is essential. · Travel is required · Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels. · Must be able to effectively communicate safety and environmental procedures in training. · Must be proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
